my biking exercise facilities

There are two principal places where I ride a stationary bike.  Usually I work out at the local JCC on a Life Fitness exercise bike.

But when that is not convenient, I use facilities at home.  Specifically I use a regular street bike put on a special stand.  I also have a combination speedometer, cadence meter, heart monitor, stop watch and other things gadget that is designed for a street bike.

I try to keep my cadence between 90 and 110 rpm.  I make sure my heart rate does not go too high.  I ride for nearly an hour, being sure to include a warm up period and a cool down period of five minutes each.  I also drink plenty of fluids

Because I judged from Dr. Alberts’ work that cadence is more important than resistance I put the resistance down as far as it will go.
